6w0d...Really? 6 weeks?

Wow-- its kinda unbelievable that we're technically 6 weeks along today. In some ways, its flown by. In other ways, its been the slowest moving calendar ever....especially in between the benchmark tests. Case in point-- the wait until next Monday when we have our ultrasound in Cincinnati. How can 6 days feel 18 years away from now?

I can't help but be very cautious, as we have another 4-5 weeks until the time when we can actually hear a heartbeat and feel a bit out of the woods. Right now, everything is so fragile. Although I hope this isn't the case, the reality is that we're smack dab in the middle of the "danger zone"...when things can go wrong or progress stops developing. These are the exact reasons why we have kept our IVF such a secret. We want to have solid good news to share...and we're halfway there.

This is why the first couple months require a great deal of patience. Its taking baby steps....and such a play on words is totally fitting. But at least today, we're about half way through the really scary part, so that's good. Here's hoping for more positive news to keep coming.
